There’s something truly magical about taking time away from the busyness of life to simply be with family, right?. This year, we packed our bags, bundled up in warm layers, and headed to McCall, Idaho, for a winter vacation unlike any other.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a blanket of snow as far as the eye could see. There was more snow than we had ever experienced before! It felt like stepping into a winter wonderland, where every tree, rooftop, and pathway was dusted in pure white. My little boy, Dominic (and let’s be honest, the adults too) couldn’t wait to jump in, build snowmen, and experience the magic of fresh snowfall.
We really got to Cherishing Every Moment Together!!!
One of the best parts of this trip was the uninterrupted time we had as a family. No distractions, no busy schedules, just pure connection. Whether it was sipping hot cocoa by the fire, exploring the charming town of McCall, or taking in the breathtaking frozen lakes, every moment felt like a gift. We got to see our little baby skying for the very first time.... How cool is that?
Guess what?? I couldn't miss the opportunity to capture the magic through my lens, of course!!!
As a professional photographer myself, I see the world a little differently.... You know exactly what I mean. I believe that photographs are one of the most valuable things we have, yes, they freeze moments in time, and they allow us to relive them again and again.
During our trip, I made sure to capture plenty of photos, using my iPhone, of course. While I love my professional camera, carrying it everywhere, especially in constant snowfall, wasn’t the most practical choice. Instead, I focused on capturing the moments that truly matter, not just the breathtaking landscapes, but us, our laughter, our togetherness, our love, and the in-between moments that make life so beautiful. Because at the end of the day, when the trip is over and the snow has melted, it’s the pictures that remain, the visual stories of the love and joy we shared.
I was fortunate that on our last day in McCall, the snowfall finally stopped. It was like it was giving us the opportunity to do our session, so, I quickly planned our family photoshoot, chose the best outfits we had available, and headed to the locations I had already scouted (because, of course, I’m always thinking about the perfect backdrop!). And there we were, connecting, playing, laughing, and simply enjoying the moment. Those images are more than just photographs; they are timeless treasures, capturing a chapter of our story that we will cherish forever.
Until Next Time, McCall, You were truly amazing!!!
This trip was a beautiful reminder of what truly matters: family, experiences, and the memories we create along the way. McCall, Idaho, gave us more than just a winter getaway. It gave us moments we’ll treasure forever. And I have the pictures to prove it.
